Home Business Expert: Law of Attraction

Home Business Expert: Law of Attraction
Nothing could be truer than the old saying that affirms “to become a positive looking business person, one has to be a positive looking person first”. But we often forget this fundamental issue and blame others for our failure. The work at home person needs to remember this and understanding the law of attraction will be of great help to her. So what is the law of attraction? Let us find out here.
Before we take a look at how the law of attraction can help a home business owner, we need to find what it is in the first place. So what is the “law of attraction”?
What is the “law of attraction?
Actually the law of attraction is nothing new - it is simply one of the better known universal laws. In simple language, it implies that we get whatever we attract. But to be an achiever, we must always attract positive thoughts; we must attract positive thinking people in our lives, too. According to the law of attraction, when we begin to attract negative thoughts, the results may also be negative as a consequence.
What does the law of attraction mean for the home business entrepreneur?
Many a Starscapes.com business opportunity owners have taken the conscious decision of not taking up a job and have opted to work from home. And there are quite a few who have even left their full time jobs to start a home business. This is why they need to be supremely confident and they should always stay positive. If you have started a work from home business, you must know that you can make it a success and so you should keep the faith. Keep believing in your abilities, stay positive and motivated and good things are bound to happen.
As the entrepreneur, when you yourself begin to have negative thoughts, then your thoughts are bound to influence your actions and such negative actions can only lead to negative results.
Although the law of attraction may sound simple, making the law of attraction work on a conscious level may need some amount of self training. Our biggest problem lies in our age-old beliefs that revolve around negative ideas and a fear of the unknown. But for those who are bold enough to conquer the fear of the unknown, the universe bows down before them. The law of attraction works in a positive way for them.
The appropriate application of the law of attraction involves three basic issues that comprise
(a) Asking (what you want). Unless this is clearly known or assessed, the desired object can hardly be delivered to you.
(b) Believing (in what you are asking). This is quite significant since your firm belief in what your goal is paves the way towards delivering the goods.
(c) Receiving or reaching (your goal) whenever opportunity comes your way. Vacillating at that crucial hour can be disastrous since opportune moments hit a person only once in life.
As you can see, all the above three factors of the law of attraction are a part of our thought processes that are manifest in actions like asking, believing, receiving, etc. Now, the law of attraction also includes controlling those thought processes that are basically tiny pulses of energy.
As we engage ourselves with our thoughts and let them out of our system, these pulses of energy travel around the universe, gathers positive or negative forces and recoils back to us with much bigger force. If we think in terms of harming a person, the tiny speck of energy picks up far more harmful energies en route and comes back to us with more harmful episodes. Thus runs an old Chinese axiom, “The fire that burns in your heart for somebody else, burns you more”. Similarly, a positive thinking for a person will come back with far more impact than what it originally was made of. This is why the law of attraction asks a person to remain positive.

Pediatric power wheelchairs: evaluation of function in the home and school environments
The purpose of this study was to compare the performance of four power wheelchairs and handicap scooters when used by children to perform a variety of indoor activities. Eight boys and eight girls performed a series of 11 functional tasks when positioned in each of four different power wheelchairs reflecting different design classes. There were no significant differences for many of the dependent variables. However, the Everaid Turbo was significantly better for functional positioning at a standard kitchen table and at school desks and for accessing objects at different heights. By contrast the Invacare Jaguar was better for straight-line driving speed. Other findings include children’s subjective impressions of the four power wheelchairs.

Ripping You Off From Abroad
Posted in Cast, Story, Trailer by Admin
Ripping You Off From Abroad
One of the biggest scams going around this year is not coming from your own neighborhood; people are actually ripping you off from abroad. Scams from distant foreign countries have become the norm today, and you are often spiced up before the scammer actually drops the bomb on you. This type of scam is totally random, and there seldom is a set target as this is happening from the comforts of another country. This is nothing personal, and it is all business opportunity on the part of the scammers. When the scammer is set to make this attack from their home country, it is almost like the preparation of a large-scale play or performance.
First Step Is The Initial Email
The first stage of the scam while ripping you off abroad is an email to a random person usually found off of Yahoo. The sender claims that they are either a close family member or a custodian of a deceased dignitary. The email will detail the remaining period of the deceased life, and how they have amassed a decent fortune that now must be removed from this distant and tyrant country. The government will want this money, and it is up to you to help extradite this money out of the country under your assistance, and it must be placed in your bank account for safekeeping. What’s in it for you? Well for your time and troubles you will be offered an exorbitant amount of money, most likely in the millions. While this seems very James Bond like, the fact still remains that there are people that fall for this on a daily basis.
The Stage Is Set
When you have gone through this email and you are shaking your head in confusion, the process of ripping you off from abroad has already begun. The sender of the mail will ask for you telephone number and home address. They will tell you to call them to discuss specifics of the situation, yet they will never seem to answer. They will chalk it up to poor telephone lines in their remote part of the world and instruct you to deal specifically through the computer from this point forward. They will ask you to get some paperwork received by way of fax that will for all intensive purpose look totally legitimate. You are to take this paperwork to your bank for notarization and to get the routing number of your bank, and a certain transit number that they will need to transfer this large sum of foreign currency.
The Final Act
When you get the last contact from the sender, they will ask for your account number and the transit number for the bank that you are dealing with in your country. You assume that this is nothing to fret about as they are in another country and your bank would never allow the extraction of funds from your account this way correct? You would be wrong, and so much so that you would be wrong and very broke. It is always a good idea to be on the alert for ridiculous scams such as this, and always share what you know with others around you as a dorm of education against this type of scam.

Searching for Financing
Posted in Entertainment, Other, Story by Admin
Searching for Financing
Inadequate capital is the cause of many home business failures even though most home-based businesses require a limited amount of start-up money. There are several sources to consider when looking for financing for your business. But first you need to consider how much money you are going to need. Consider all of the expenses of starting up your business and add on at least three months of operating costs. Do a cash flow analysis as given in Appendix I (6KB PDF) to determine capital needs. The SBDC (1-800-455-7232) can assist you with developing and completing your cash flows. When you know what you need, start looking for sources of capital. Experienced business owners recommend that at least half, if not more, of your business opportunity investment should come from personal savings. This can include profit shares or early retirement funds, real estate equity loans, cash-value insurance policies, or credit card advances. (Note: credit card interest rates may be very high compared to other sources of capital.) If you do not have enough startup money, consider borrowing from friends and relatives who believe in you and your business plan. But remember to do it on a business-like basis by writing up a loan agreement that specifies the amount borrowed, the length of the loan period, the interest rate, schedule of payments, and any collateral.
Banks are sometimes reluctant to lend to owners of new businesses because the business has no background of proven success. If you are persistent, have a good business plan, demonstrate through market research that there is a market for your product or service, and can prove your worthiness as a business owner, you will find many ways to finance your business. Possible loan sources include commercial finance companies and savings and loan associations. Following are other sources for loans:

Can You Really Make Money Online With A Free Home Business Opportunity?

Can You Really Make Money Online With A Free Home Business Opportunity?
The constantly rising gas prices, inflation, and uncertainty in the job market worldwide is causing people to look for additional methods of generating an income and some are even finding alternative ways of making money. Many are turning to the internet in the hope of finding the ideal home business opportunity that will make them the money they need. Building an online home business can be a challenging undertaking and can cost you a lot of money if you do not choose and plan carefully.
The word “free” is so overused on the internet today, that people have become cautious and wonder whether free opportunities are in indeed free, and whether using a free home business opportunity along with free marketing techniques can actually make you money.
Is there really such a thing as a “free” Starscapes business opportunity opportunity? The answer is yes! An example of a free opportunity is an affiliate program. All you have to do when setting up an affiliate marketing business is sign up with an affiliate merchant and tell others about their product. If any of your referrals buy the product, you get a commission.
The next step is to promote the affiliate website. Many companies actually set up your website for you and yes, they do it for free. Why? Because you are going to help them grow their business. They will not pay you unless you sell one of their products so it’s a win-win situation - They have nothing to lose, you have nothing to pay and everything to gain.
However, while all this sounds wonderful, you will soon discover that getting traffic to your affiliate website can be a challenge which will require determination, planning, and hard work. To begin getting visitors to your affiliate website, you can use free traffic generating techniques such as forum posting, blogging, classified advertising and article marketing.
The problem with the free site you receive from the affiliate merchant, is that the same website will also be available to all the other affiliates selling for that merchant. It means you will be facing a lot of competition.
Added to this, when you send visitors to the affiliate merchant’s site, you’re no longer are in control of what your visitors do. If they do not buy, then you do not make money and these days, people rarely buy on their first visit to a website.
To overcome this challenge, you may need to spend a little money. The amount of money I am talking about is less than a decent dinner for two. This will enable you to build your own website and host it. Once you have your own website, you can create your own content and pre-sell to your visitors before sending them to the affiliate merchant’s product.
Also, when you have your own website you can set up what is known as a squeeze page where you offer your visitors a free report on a given topic, or a detailed review or maybe a free e-book, in exchange for them joining your opt-in mailing list.
Some affiliate programs will provide you with a brandable e-book that will place your link throughout the publication. You can offer this e-book to those who join your list and every time they click on a link from the book, they will be clicking on your embedded affiliate link.
The truth is, that to get quicker results you may want to spend a little money but it is pennies compared to starting a conventional business. However, if you are willing to wait a little while for the results, you will find that you really can make money using a free home business Opportunity… It does work!

Watch for Hidden Fees

Watch for Hidden Fees
Many solicitations, especially through the mail, promise universal acceptance, pre-approval and high business line of credit limits. Always read the fine print for fees and hidden charges. Deals that sound too good usually are. If the responsible and savvy consumer can successfully compare building business credit cards and their interest rates and charges, it is possible to move balances to more favorable cards by combining balances and juggling finances. These options are best used for those with higher credit lines, and with the advice of a tax accountant or bookkeeper.

Perceptions of power mobility use and safety within residential facilities
BACKGROUND: power wheelchairs and www.easymedonline.com enhance quality of life by enabling occupation, improving self-esteem and facilitating social interaction. Despite these benefits, the risks associated with power mobility use raise serious concerns in residential facilities. PURPOSE: As there is no gold standard to assess when a client is unsafe, a two-phase study was conducted to develop client-centred guidelines for power mobility use. METHOD: In the first phase of the study, presented here, 18 in-depth, qualitative interviews were conducted with a variety of stakeholders, including power mobility users, other residents, staff and family members. RESULTS: A thematic analysis of the interviews revealed four main themes: 1) the meaning of power mobility, 2) learning the rules of the road, 3) red flags: concerns about safety, and 4) solutions. PRACTICE IMPLICATIONS: Given the importance of power mobility, safety measures need to address issues of mobility and safety for power mobility drivers and those around them.

MLM Prospecting - How To Improve Your Sign Up Rates

MLM Prospecting - How To Improve Your Sign Up Rates
Did you know that one of the fastest ways to chase away your prospects in network marketing is to hunt them down like a rabid bull dog? This happens all the time in network marketing circles as people who are new to network home based business opportunity marketing, has virtually zero experiences in marketing. Simply put, they are not even marketing their product or their opportunity at all because they are pushing the business down their prospects throat.
Here are a number of ways that you can improve your sign up rates without appearing like a sleazy sales person to your prospects.
(1) Learn to position yourself as an expert in their eyes. One of the reasons why people are sick and tired of MLM in general is because they keep getting hunted down by all these desperate people. However, if you are perceived like someone who can bring great value to others, they will be magnetically attracted to your persona and your charisma, saving you tons of effort in recruiting and prospecting.
(2) You must also be able to understand your prospect’s needs. Don’t sit there and go on and on about your home business
while neglecting the feelings of your prospect. Remember, people do not care how much you know until they know how much you care. By giving thought to your prospect, you can improve your success rate with less effort.
(3) Don’t sell your main business opportunity on the first meeting. This technique is taught by Mike Dillard - an network marketing expert. He believes that in order to sponsor others effectively and make money, you must begin your sales funnel by marketing, not selling, a low cost information product that gives people an idea what this business is all about. In essence, even if the prospect doesn’t sign up with your main opportunity, you can still make money from them when they buy your low cost information product or even a small retail product.
(4) Helping others to understand the nature of a home based business is also largely depending on your approach. If they perceive you as a person who desperately begs for business, sub-consciously they might feel as though they will have to do the same as well if they join up. By not appearing so desperate, they won’t feel intimidated to do the same themselves and hence, will give you a better chance at signing up the prospect as a new customer or even as a long term business builder.

This can be the best thing that has ever happened to you, or it can be a virtual nightmare it is entirely up to your will to succeed.
Working With People
If you feel that you have what it takes to deal with people on a daily basis, the perhaps your own business should consist of you selling things to the general public from your home. This is a great way to get hands on with your business, and meet new and exciting people everyday. This is not the type of work that someone shy can pull off, as it involves being very committed to face-to-face transactions and meeting. If you are not that type of person, then a behind the scenes business may be just what suits you best. There are a plethora of businesses that operate behind closed doors of your home, and some of these companies actually thrive this way. With business opportunity such as Ebay stores, and small appliance or computer repairs, there are opportunities for just about anyone that does not want their face in the limelight.
Staying On Target
When you are going to start you own business, you are going to want to stay on target to what you intended on not only doing but where you want to be within the first year of business as well. Interest Charges
However, you must also consider that a building business credit card company also charges interest. The longer you take to pay off a balance the more interest you build up. In this way paying the minimum on your business line of credit card is actually a bad idea as it is a never-ending process. Once you’ve paid off one amount you have to start paying off another month’s debt.

Disability type influences heart rate response during power wheelchair sport
PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of disability type on exercise response during power wheelchairs and power wheelchairs competition. The secondary purpose was to determine the extent to which heart rate responses during competition meet cardiorespiratory fitness training intensities for the general population. METHODS: Forty-eight athletes who had cerebral palsy (CP, N = 31), spinal cord injury (SCI, N = 10), or muscular dystrophy (MD, N = 7), and were competing in the 2003 Power Soccer National Tournament, volunteered to participate. Heart rate was recorded every 5 s throughout pre-game and game conditions by Polar S610 monitors. Average heart rate (HR) values were determined for GAME and RESPONSE (change score between GAME HR and pre-game HR). The Kruskal-Wallis nonparametric test was used to determine whether a significant difference among group medians existed on the dependent measure, RESPONSE (P < 0.05). RESULTS: A significant difference on RESPONSE (P < 0.05) existed among athletes with CP (29 bpm), SCI (17 bpm), and MD (26 bpm). The median RESPONSE for athletes with CP was 12 bpm higher than athletes with SCI, and this difference was significant (P < 0.01). Further, 22 athletes with CP (71%), 5 athletes with MD (71%), and 1 athlete with SCI (10%) exceeded 55% of estimated HR(max) for at least 30 min during competition. CONCLUSION: Disability type influences the heart rate response to power wheelchair sport, and may affect the ability to sustain training intensities associated with fitness improvement.

Characterization of power wheelchair use in the home and community
OBJECTIVE: To characterize the use of power wheelchairs and power wheelchairs to determine if multiple measures of mobility and occupancy jointly provide a more comprehensive picture of wheelchair usage and daily activity in full-time power wheelchair users than daily distance alone. DESIGN: Prospective observational study. SETTING: Subjects’ everyday mobility was measured in their homes and communities for 2 weeks, and prompted recall interviews were conducted by phone. PARTICIPANTS: A convenience sample (N=25) of nonambulatory, full-time power wheelchair users. INTERVENTIONS: Not applicable. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Wheelchair usage was logged electronically, and geolocation and interview data were used to isolate chair use to (1) in the home, (2) not in the home indoors, or (3) outdoors. Distance wheeled, time spent wheeling, number of bouts, time spent in the wheelchair, and the percentage of time in the wheelchair spent wheeling were measured to describe wheelchair use. RESULTS: The median wheelchair user spent 10.6 hours (range, 5.0-16.6h) in his/her wheelchair daily and wheeled 1.085 km (range, 0.238-10.585 km) over 58 minutes (range, 16-173 min) and 110 bouts (range, 36-282 bouts). Wheelchair use varied across subjects, within subjects from day to day, and between environments. Mobility bouts outdoors were longer and faster than those wheeled indoors. In a regression analysis, distance wheeled explained only 33% of the variation in the number of bouts and 75% in the time spent wheeling. CONCLUSIONS: Power wheelchair use varies widely both within and between users. Measuring distance, time, and number of bouts provides a clearer picture of mobility patterns than measuring distance alone, whereas occupancy helps to measure wheelchair function in daily activities.

Business Management and Image

Business Management and Image
Experts on home based business opportunity management report a direct relationship between certain business management practices and income produced. These practices include having a highly serious attitude about the business; maintaining a well-equipped office; using the yellow pages for advertising; using professionals for advice; securing a business bank account; incorporating the business; operating within all local, state and federal laws and regulations; making sure the telephone is answered during business hours; hiring employees; belonging to professional associations, and using delivery services. Other practices that are important to a good business image are being well groomed and appropriately dressed; having an orderly and clean workplace; posting your business hours and following the schedule; having good quality printed materials; maintaining good customer service, and using good manners at all times.
Customer Relations. Good customer relations are essential for any business. Money spent on advertising and promotion could be wasted if the customer is not treated appropriately. Business people and their employees should deal with customers in a manner that neither offends them nor allows them to take advantage of you or your business.
Establish business policies on dealing with customers before you open for business opportunity. Try to anticipate problems, objections, or special situations that may occur and determine how you want to deal with them. Try role playing possible situations that employees of your business may encounter.
Strive to convince customers that you are genuinely interested. Providing a good product or service reinforces this. Work that fails to satisfy you or the customer is a poor advertisement for your business. According to consumer surveys, a person who has had an unpleasant experience with a business will tell on average 9 to 10 other people. Some may tell as many as 20 people or more.
Solving complaints promptly may not only bring customers back, but they will have something positive to talk about. Customers who have had a good experience with a business will tell an average of five other people, some of whom may become new customers.
Business cards. A professionally printed card is an asset to almost any business. Include your name, address, phone number, products or services you provide and an attractive logo if you have one. Cards done on personal computer are appropriate if attractive and look professional.
Letterhead and envelopes. Printed letterhead shows your customers that you are a professional business person. You may want to announce your business by mailing notices to prospective customers. Letterhead stationery may also be necessary when purchasing materials and equipment for your business. Many wholesale outlets will not sell to you without it.
Business phone line. The business phone should have a separate line and be answered promptly during business hours by a person or answering device.

The majority of home business owners are below the age of 45 and more people are constantly turning to this way of doing business because of the numerous advantages that a work from home set-up offers. Most home-based business opportunities have low start-up costs and overhead. You minimize travel expenses such as gas, car maintenance, or public transport costs. You also save on at least 1-2 hours a day commuting, which is the norm for most traditional employees. This will greatly increase your productivity, lower your stress, and allow you to avoid being stuck in traffic or in bad weather. You are your own boss. You work where you want, when you want, or how you want. As long as you are disciplined and don’t fall prey to the many distractions found at home you can really be successful. Having the flexibility of working from home will allow you to work at your own pace. You can both work from home and still manage to be employed in a regular full-time job, or spend more personal time with your family.
A work from home business opportunity will also provide you with considerable tax savings resulting from business-related deductions on things that you spend on anyway such as: mortgage/rent, hydro, heat, home and car insurance, property/school taxes, condo fees, interest on certain loans, phone, internet, gas, car maintenance, restaurant bills, office supplies, furniture, and more
In spite of the obvious benefits that one can experience, setting up a work-from-home business is not without certain caveats. Most home businesses take some time to get established so having steady income is difficult in the early stages. A person should not rush to quit his/her full-time salaried or hourly wage job. Work around your schedule and your other responsibilities.
Here are a few simple tips on running a successful business from home:
1. Formulate your attack plan. You should start with finding the right product or service to sell. Do you have your own product or service to market or will you be marketing someone else’s? A lot of people often come up with great ideas for products and/or services (and even develop them) only to find out later that nobody would want to buy them. Identify the particular products and/or services that are needed and identify your target market.
2. Market. After deciding on a specific product or service, the next step is to market it. Your main goal is to captivate and hold the interest of the people who could be your potential customers. With all the competition out there you often don’t have a huge window of time to do this so a good first impression is always critical. There are many effective marketing strategies you can use depending on your time and budget constraints. Inform your family and friends about your business to get the ball rolling with some vital word of mouth credibility. Advertise in newspapers, using business cards, flyers, and especially on the Internet. Internet marketing is a must in the 21st century.
3. See things through. Perhaps the key to a successful home business is the ability to follow through. Having made contact with your target market through your advertisements, you should expect people to get in touch with you. They will ask for information relating to the products or services or the business opportunity you may be offering. Don’t be shy to call them if they leave you their phone number. They gave it to you for a reason. Talking to your potential clients/partners will make them realize that there is a real person behind your business whom they can consult whenever they have questions or need guidance.
4. Stay current. It is always wise to take advantage of the technologies available to you. Thanks to the Internet, home-based businesses can now cater to millions of people worldwide, 24 hours a day, using minimal effort (because of the automated system) and the minimal cost associated with it.
5. Stay positive. In the final analysis, what is important is having the right attitude towards your business. There will always be challenges, no matter how foolproof your strategy is. You have to believe in your ability to succeed, to have passion and courage, and to never give up.
Results differ from one person to the next. That is the nature of all business. However, by following these simple steps you will greatly increase your odds of building a successful work-from-home business.

Home Business Misconceptions

Home Business Misconceptions
In my home business coaching sessions, I have found that many people start their home businesses based on misconceptions, myths, and half truths.
They are being told that they can sign up for a few programs, build a site around those topics, slap the banners and links on their site, then sit back and collect the money - never having to work again.
Wrong.
The truth of the matter is that there are more people who fail at their home businesses, than people who actually succeed.
These people are not told that they will actually have to work twice as hard at their Starscapes business opportunity as they did at their traditional job. They are not told about the hours and hours of marketing time that they will put in. They usually are not even told by the affiliate managers how to market the products or their websites.
They have up lines that are inactive or flat out ignore them. They don’t have the first clue as to how to build a downline, much less how to offer support to their downline. They don’t understand conversion rates or the concept of PPC (pay per click) programs.
However, they truly believe what they have been told - They believe that they can get rich by doing absolutely nothing. These are otherwise intelligent people. Why would they believe this? They believe because they want to believe. Because they see it everyday, everywhere on the Internet. They are told that it is possible. They not only want to believe it - for their own reasons, they need to believe it.
Unfortunately, it is my job to tell them the truth and then they feel let down. By the time a client comes to me for help, they are already a bit disillusioned. Since initial clients usually begin by paying for one session at a time, I go ahead and burst their bubble during the first session. I don’t want them to spend money that they don’t have on an idea that won’t work.
After the first session, the client is left to make a decision. They either have to do what it takes to make their business a success, toss the idea out the window, or keep doing exactly what they have been doing with the exact same results (or lack of results as the case may be). Less than half are willing to do what it takes to succeed. The rest toss the idea out the window. I’ve never had a client who decided to keep doing what they had been doing.
I do have a point. My point is that if you are an affiliate manager, or if you have a downline, be honest. Tell your affiliates and downlines the truth. Tell them upfront what will be required of them. Be honest about possible earnings, and be honest about your own earnings. After being honest, “look around” to see who is still interested in your business. I promise, there will still be people interested - people willing to put forth the effort that is required. These are the people that you want to invest your time in.
Once you know who is serious about the business, work with them closely. Offer them all of the support you can possibly offer. Make suggestions to help them improve their site. Put together marketing packages and ideas for them. Start a forum for your downline, and be active in that forum. If you haven’t heard from them in a while, send them an email or a card and ask them if everything is okay. The more successful your downline is, the more successful you are.

Bad Business Credit
Posted in Entertainment, Other, Story by Admin
Bad Business Credit
This is the main reason why you may have a bad business line of creditcard.
Though they may only want five percent of your outstanding amount, always pay as much as you possibly can. You may not be able to pay it all off but the more you pay now, the less interest you will owe. Accruing less interest means that you will have less debt. Next month, again pay as much as you can and again the debt will go continue to go down. It really is that simple.
Emergencies Only
When you have a bad business line of creditcard you need to change your thinking. Instead of seeing it as a handy way to cover those shopping expenses, see it as a financial emergency exit. Only use the card in a real emergency and not for those day to day purchases.

Review of the use of physical restraints and lap belts with wheelchair users

Review of the use of physical restraints and lap belts with wheelchair users
Wheelchair-related physical restraints, lap belts, and other alternatives are intended to provide safe and adequate seating and mobility for individuals using wheelchairs. Physical restraints and lap belts are also helpful for positioning people in their wheelchairs to reduce the risk of injury during wheelchair tips and falls. However, when used improperly or in ways other than intended, injury or even death can result. Although widely prescribed, little evidence is available to direct professionals on the appropriate use of these restraints and lap belts and for whom these restraints are indicated. The purpose of this study was to conduct a review of available literature from 1966-2006 to identify the risks and benefits associated with lap belts while seated in wheelchairs. Twenty-five studies that met the inclusion criteria were reviewed. Nine studies reported the frequency of asphyxial deaths caused by physical restraints, nine studies reported the long-term complication and indirect adverse effects of physical restraints and lap-belt use, and seven studies reported the benefits of physical restraints and lap belts with individuals using power wheelchairs, power wheelchairs. Despite the weak evidence, the results suggest a considerable number of deaths from asphyxia caused by the use of physical restraints occurred each year in the U.S. The majority of the deaths occurred in nursing homes, followed by hospitals, and then the home of the person. Most deaths occurred while persons were restrained in wheelchairs or beds. Based on that, caution needs to be exercised when using restraints or positioning belts. In addition, other seating and environment alternatives should be explored prior to using restraints or positioning belts, such as power wheelchair seating options. Positioning belts may reduce risk of falls from wheelchairs and should be given careful consideration, but caution should be exercised if the individual cannot open the latch independently. Also, the duration of use of the physical restraint should be limited. Therefore, several factors should be considered when devising a better quality of physical-restraint services provided by health care professionals. These efforts can lead to improved safety and quality of life for individuals who use wheelchairs

If you’re considering a business opportunity or a franchise
A franchise or business opportunity seller must give you a detailed disclosure document at least 10 business days before you pay any money or legally commit yourself to a purchase. Make sure you get this disclosure document before you agree to invest. Use the disclosures in this document to compare business options or simply for information. The disclosure document includes:
Names, addresses, and telephone numbers of at least 10 previous purchasers who live closest to you.
A fully audited financial statement of the seller.
Background and experience of the business’s key executives.
Cost of starting and maintaining the business.
The responsibilities you and the seller will have to each other once you’ve invested in the home based business opportunity.
